City of Ember: An Enlightening Look
City of Ember…Coming 10.10.08 – a new movie from Gil Kenan (Monster House). A fantasy realm in which the people of the world have gone underground…to the City of Ember…a city lit entirely by electric light. But just one catch! The city was designed to only last 200 years.
200 years has passed and time’s up. In a race against darkness, fear, oppression, and a set and cast you can’t beat, Lina Mayfleet (Saoirse Ronan, Atonement) must find the way out of the City of Ember.
Also starring Bill Murray as Mayor Cole and a crew including Martin Laing (Titanic, Pearl Harbor set design) and Caroline Thompson (she adapted the original book by Jeanne Duprau, and has written other notable screenplays such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands).
